9-a-Side

Welshpool entered the annual 9-a-side tournament in Mold for the first time in a long time this season, and we loved every minute of it! We set out with targets of getting used to game situations, short corners and working together as a group against tought opposition.

Having drawn Ardudwy (Unbeaten top of the league from last year!) and Caernarfon (Up from Division 2 this season), we knew we were in for some tough games, but we pulled together and enjoyed the games, whilst demonstrating some promising play for the season.

Vs Ardudwy: Lost 2-0

Vs Caernarfon: Won 1-0

We went through to the semi final against Dysynni (another force to be reckoned with!) and unfortunatly came away with a 2-0 loss, but with our best game of the day.

Captain & Player of the day: Sonja Evans!

Well done all!

PEP Coaching

We were really lucky to welcome PEP Coaching for an adult and junior training session in Newtown at the end of August. Welsh International Jo Westwood and South African International Dirkie Chamberlain ran a workshop for the Mid Wales area, and the Welshpool, Newtown, Llanfair, Montgomery and Bishops Castle girls thoroughly enjoyed the session.

Some fantastic advice, skills and knowledge shared by the internationals set us up for a brilliant preseason session, and we are all incredibly grateful that they chose to run their first adult session in Mid Wales!

We have already requested a second session, so watch this space!
